Terms of service

The agreement between you and myRetireAge.com, written to be read. Using the site or the app means you accept these terms, so here they are without the fog.

Last updated: 9 July 2026

The short version
  • myRetireAge.com is a planning tool, not financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours.
  • Projections and backtests are illustrative. They are never a guarantee of future returns.
  • Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required. Cancel anytime.
  • Your figures stay yours. We use them only to run your plan.
  • Play fair: no scraping, reselling or attacking the service.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

01Who we are

myRetireAge.comis a UK financial independence planning and tracking tool. In these terms, "we" means the operator of myRetireAge.com.

To be confirmed before launch

The operating legal entity and its registered details will be named here before launch.

02What the service is

myRetireAge.com projects the financial figures you enter through long-run market history and UK tax rules, reports the earliest retirement age those projections support, and then tracks the balances you log each month against that plan. The free calculators on this site do the projection part without an account; the paid app adds saved plans and monthly tracking.

It is a modelling tool. It works entirely from what you type in and the assumptions shown on-surface, and its outputs move when either changes.

03Not financial advice

myRetireAge.com does not provide financial advice, and nothing on this site or in the app is a personal recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment, or to make any pension, tax or retirement decision. We are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. For advice on your specific situation, speak to a regulated financial adviser.

The service shows you the mathematical consequences of your own inputs and assumptions. What you do with that information is your decision and your responsibility.

04No guarantees

Projections are illustrations, not predictions. Backtests replay what historically happened; they cannot know what markets will do next, and past performance does not guarantee future returns. Investments can go down as well as up, tax rules change, and the figures you enter may be wrong or incomplete. A plan that survived every year of history can still fail in a future that history does not contain.

We work hard to make the modelling faithful (the assumptions and data sources are published on-surface), but we do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose.

05Your account

Keep your sign-in email under your control: anyone who can read it can access your account. Give us accurate information, and use one account per household (couples on one plan is a feature, not a workaround). You must be at least 18 to open an account.

06Trial, pricing and billing

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required. After the trial, the service costs £9 per month, or a one-time £119 for lifetime access while the founding offer runs. You can cancel a subscription at any time, and it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.

To be confirmed before launch

Billing specifics (payment processor, VAT treatment, refund policy, and how the founding lifetime offer ends) will be finalised with the launch billing setup and stated here before anyone is charged.

07Acceptable use

Use the service for planning your own household's finances. You agree not to:

  • resell, rebrand or offer the service to third parties as your own;
  • scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract the site, the app or the datasets behind them;
  • probe, overload or attempt to break the service's security or other users' data isolation;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

08Your data

The figures you enter remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them for one purpose: running the service for you. How we handle personal data, and how to get yours deleted, is set out in the privacy policy.

09Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and improving, and we may change features over time. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. If we ever discontinue the paid service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your figures.

10Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, we are not liable for investment or financial outcomes, for decisions you make using the service's outputs, or for indirect losses; and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

This limitation reflects the "Not financial advice" section above: the service informs your decisions, it does not make them.

11Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that break the acceptable-use rules above, and we will say why. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unused paid period.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.

To be confirmed before launch

Flagged for the pre-launch legal review: confirm this clause (including consumer-rights carve-outs for users elsewhere in the UK) before launch.

13Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
