Privacy policy

The short version

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them - your age, your savings, your spending - is sent to us, stored by us, or visible to us. The only personal data we hold is an email address you choose to give us, and we only use it for the things you asked for.

Who we are

MyRetireAge (myretireage.com) is operated by Adam Akhlaq, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for any personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@myretireage.com.

What we collect, and why

Your email address, only if you sign up for early access or ask for your results by email. We record the address, the page you signed up from, and when you confirmed. The legal basis is consent: you typed your address in, and you confirmed it by clicking the link we sent (double opt-in). We use it to send early access updates and the monthly UK retirement briefing, and - if you asked for it - a one-off email with your calculator results.

Calculator results in emails. If you ask us to email your results, the link you were on (including the numbers encoded in it) is used to build that one email. It is not saved to a database or used for anything else.

Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, time, page) for security and reliability. We also use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics to see which pages are useful in aggregate. These analytics do not identify you and do not follow you across other sites.

What we never do

We do not sell or share your data for advertising. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party ad networks. We never see the numbers you type into a calculator.

Who processes data for us

Email is delivered by Resend (our email provider), which stores your address and subscription status on our behalf. Our site is hosted on Vercel. Both act as data processors under agreements that meet UK GDPR requirements.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, which removes you from the list. You can also email us to have your address deleted entirely.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@myretireage.com and we’ll sort it, usually within a few days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
