Privacy policy

myRetireAge.com exists to answer one question about your money, not to collect it. This page lists everything we hold, where it lives, and how to make us delete it, in plain English.

Last updated: 9 July 2026

The short version
  • The free calculators run in your browser. Nothing you type on this site is stored by us or sent to our servers.
  • The paid app stores two things: your email address and the financial figures you choose to enter.
  • No bank connections, ever. You type your balances in yourself, so we never hold credentials to your accounts.
  • No analytics or tracking cookies on this site today.
  • We never sell your data. There is no advertising here and your figures are not a product.
  • Delete your account and your data goes with it.

01Who we are

myRetireAge.com is a UK financial independence planning and tracking tool. The data controller is the operator of myRetireAge.com.

To be confirmed before launch

The operating legal entity, its registered address and (if required) its ICO registration will be named here before launch.

02What this website collects: nothing

The free calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The ages, balances and spending figures you type into them are used to compute your result on your own device. They are not stored by us, not sent to our servers, and not visible to us.

One honest detail: if you copy a share link from a calculator result, your inputs are encoded in the link itself so the recipient sees the same result. Anyone you send that link to can see those numbers, so share it as you would share the numbers.

03What the app collects

If you create an account in the paid app, we store:

  • Your email address. Used to sign you in and to send you service messages. Sign-in is by one-time code, so there is no password for us to store or lose.
  • The figures you enter. Account balances, contributions, spending, ages and plan assumptions, held against your account so your plan and its history work.

Just as important is what we deliberately never collect: we do not connect to your bank, we do not use open banking, we do not scrape statements, and we never ask for credentials to any financial account. You type your balances in yourself, once a month, by design.

04Where your data lives

App data is stored in a Postgres database managed by Supabase, with row-level isolation so your records are only ever readable by your account. The site and app are hosted on Vercel.

To be confirmed before launch

The database hosting region (and, if any transfer outside the UK/EEA applies, the safeguard relied on) will be confirmed and stated here before launch.

05Analytics and cookies

This website currently uses no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising tags, and it sets no cookies. The app sets the cookies required to keep you signed in, and nothing else. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

To be confirmed before launch

At launch we intend to add privacy-conscious product analytics so we can see which pages and features are used. If that happens, this section will name the provider, what is measured, and the lawful basis, and we will add a consent banner only if the chosen tooling requires one.

06How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your data for as long as you have an account, because the product's whole point is your plan's history. Delete your account and the figures go with it.

To be confirmed before launch

The exact deletion mechanics (a self-serve delete control in the app, plus a by-email route, and any short backup retention window) will be finalised and stated here before launch.

07What we never do

  • We never sell your data, to anyone, for anything.
  • We never share your figures with advertisers or data brokers. There is no advertising on myRetireAge.com.
  • We never use your financial data for purposes other than running the service for you.
  • Third parties only touch your data as processors we engage to run the service (hosting, database, email delivery, payments), under contract, for those purposes only.

08Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, and take your data elsewhere in a usable format. Contact us using the route below and we will act on it.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

09Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes to what we collect or why will be flagged in the app before they take effect. We will not quietly widen what we do with your data.

10Contact

Questions about this policy, or a data-rights request, go to the address below.

To be confirmed before launch

The contact email address (on the launch domain) will be published here before launch.
